Human beings start their lives in childhood and proceed to develop into adults. In the childhood stage of life, individuals engage in activities that have child orientation. They tend to be shy, and mixing with other people is a little bit challenging. It happens so if the people with whom they intend to socialize are older than them. In the short story Girls at Play, Celeste Ng illustrates the transformation of life from childhood using four main characters. The story communicates that coming-of-age is a gradual process, where the individual transforms both in the body and personality. The girls are in the upper grade of education, and past thirteen years. At this stage, they know how to play around and socialize with the learners of the opposite sex. They have colors which imply different actions. For instance, Ng states pink means kissing, red means tongue; green means up your shirt, blue means down his pants. (pg1). They use the colors to communicate the course of action, something that is quite difficult for young kids. It is a clear indication that the girls are coming-of-age. Grace, their new friend, is also coming-of-age. Once she complained of a stomach problem, the bigger girls knew she was approaching her menses, and they taught her to use sanitary pads. Ng writes didnt someone explain? An aunt, the health teacher, someone? (p5) These questions were a clear indication that Grace knew nothing about menses, but she is now learning about it practically. The broader idea of this short story is criticism. The three girls criticized their friend Grace for her looks. Ng states, From all the way across the blacktop we can see that everything about her was wrong. (p2). This statement comes from the three girls, referring to Grace who in their opinion looked inexperienced and out of place. They criticize her dressing code, claiming that the shirt she wears is not proportional to her small body size. Her standing posture is a laughing matter to them. Ng writes, Even the way she stands is wrong, hands clasped behind her back. They feel that all these things happen because she does not have the experience of a grown-up girl. They even go an extra mile to criticize the work that she does and try to picture him with his full work attire. The characters in the story remind me of my teen years. From the age of thirteen years, my friends and I always felt some sense of heroism, based on the fact that we felt like adults. The same case happens to Grace, whose interaction with the other girls opens her eyes and mind to the teenage life. Ng states Each of us steals something, to show her how. (p4). The girls are training Grace to steal items from the drugstore, and how to hide them in their bodies to avoid any possible searches. Later, they train her playing the game they play with the boys, and they do not follow up what happens between her and the boys when they leave her with them at the flagpole. We turn away then, and close our e yes so that we never know if Grace follows them to the bleachers or not. (p6) It reminds me of the things we used to do during our teenage years, and some of us had to learn it the hard way. The experiences opened our eyes to see more new things. Don’t waste time! Organizational Competencies and Dynamic Accounting †Free Samples

Question: Discuss about the Organizational Competencies and Dynamic Accounting. Answer: Introduction Accounting information is looked upon as one of the essential economic data for a business entity. It directly reveals and administers the business scenario of an organization and thereby provides a key foundation for the purpose of undertaking business and management decisions (Kong, 2017). Hence, it is essential to ascertain the efficiency of the overall accounting system technique. This report would summarize the outputs, participants and inputs of the case. Thereafter, the present business mechanism framework would be provided and the report will summarise the existing strengths and weaknesses that are available within the present accounting system. At the end, the new and the advanced business evaluation framework will be summarised and the associated weaknesses and strengths will be addressed. Ismail, King (2014) constructed a framework of cognitive implementation to the modifications in the accounting information system and even examined the hypothesis regarding whether entities implement their decision making system in order to make transformations in the accounting information system, which is ascertained by the interface of the tasks, precise knowledge, cognitive capability and influences in order to make suitable decisions. Khairi, Baridwan (2015) undertook a study on the examination of a methodology in order to construct information systems related to GAAP. The intended process recorded GAAP in the format of an electronic text and is retrieved by the theoretical area. The research that is undertaken by Diatmika et al., (2016) assesses the inter organization impacts on accounting information system of the small businesses when the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is incorporated at the request of the renowned partners of trade. Understanding the Business Process in the organization In accordance to this scenario, GMAS has been incorporated in order to create a group of management accounting services that is outsourced and is constructed in order to satisfy the needs of the medium and the small scale businesses. Therefore, GMAS needs to make sure that the overall process is effective and clear. The exploitation of the information technology would in a precise manner raise the level of productivity. Prasad, Green (2015) have addressed that GMAS provides a collection of outsourced management accounting services, so the participants are inclusive of all the units during the process of accounting. Hence, in this case the applicants are the accounts receivable, collectors of debts, and department of accounting process, the clients, payroll department, compliance team, the management and the IT department. The present model of the business process is efficient and to the point. In a summary, when a client signs the agreement with GMAS, the system would be assessing. In the initial stage, the accounts receivable would receipt the consumer and compute the commission for the sales executive in accordance to the agreement and thereafter the payroll department would gather the data in order to recognise the salary of every individual employee. At the end, the accounting information process would obtain all the information and thereafter the IT department would publish a report that is dependent on the information of the management. The overall system is very clear and short. Problem Analysis of the organization In accordance to GMAS, there are two elements that might reduce the efficiency. In one of the aspects, the entire mechanism would be associated to a third party organization, who is the debt collector. It is a very general plan in order to outsource the businesses is non-core and then thereafter preserves the central business activities. Islam et al., (2017) explains that debt issues would have an impact on the wages of the salaries. The process of outsourcing the collection of debts to a third party organization would be helpful in assisting human resources of the organization in order to ensure that the human resource would concentrate on the pivotal businesses. Ismail, King (2014) cited that every organization have their own working flow when a new debt is forwarded to the debt collectors and they will assess the business in their own manner. This process is helpful in reducing the effectiveness of the service. However, Fitriati, Mulyani (2015) addressed that the accounting depa rtment would provide a report to the management on a monthly basis, which is a lower level of efficiency in order to administer the organization. Patel, (2015) explained that monthly and weekly statements would not be able to ascertain the relevance for the data and this would lower the efficiency. The incorrectness of the information would not provide the commission to the employee on time and they may have to wait for weeks or months in order to receive the commission. The developed business assessing framework has enhanced the utilisation of information technology and amended the issues related to debt. In a summary, when the consumer signs an agreement with GMAS, they would be assessing the technique. The accounts receivable would provide a receipt to the customers and compute the commission for representatives of sales in accordance to the agreement and additional steps would be taken if the applicant does not pay for the service. Bai et al., (2018) addressed that at the conclusion the accounting information system would gather the information and then the department of IT would publish a report that is on the basis of the information and this report is effective as they can directly gather the information from the database. The utilisation of the technology of database would be helpful in gathering the information at any course of time and this would effectively raise the efficiency of work. Vitamin C essays

Vitamin C essays Over the past few years, vitamin c has been a topic of controversy. There have been studies stating that vitamin c can help prevent many various health problems including cancer and other life threatening diseases. The major researcher and name associated with this side of the research is Dr. Linus Pauling. However, there have recently been some studies that refute Paulings findings. These studies state that vitamin c has now been thought to have a negative effect on the body. However, the majority of these cases do not have sufficient enough evidence to back their claims. Therefore, the research world still points to vitamin c as being beneficial to our health. Vitamin c is a water-soluble vitamin and is also known as ascorbic acid. We as humans are one of the only animals whose bodies do not naturally create ascorbic acid. Therefore, a supplement vitamin c pill was originally created. This is the form of vitamin c that we are used to seeing. This is also the type of vitamin c that researchers are debating these days. Vitamin c is the most supplemented vitamin among Americans today. I believe that this is due to the positive effects associated with vitamin c. How sustainable is hydroelectricity generation Assignment

How sustainable is hydroelectricity generation - Assignment Example The turbine is connected to an electric system which through its rotation, an electric field is created which in turn creates an electric force that is harnessed and stored in grids to be distributed and sold to customers during peak times when there must be additional sources of energy. From Interview: According to Ron Taylor who is an experienced electrical engineer, hydroelectric power is sustainable. Experts need to establish the climatic shifts of the area where the project is to be built. Proper planning should also be done to ensure sustainability of the project. From Research: Through technological advancement, the industrial sector has achieved equipments which consumes low power so that the generated power would be economically viable to enhance high productivity in the long run. However, through enhancement of power storage systems by the establishment of digital capacitor banks which are responsible for both power correction and stability, adequate power is generated and used economically to reduce resource wastage (Huggins, 2010). It is recommended that cost effective power plants like hydroelectric plants should be constructed to lower the level and rates of ozone layer depletion which negatively impacts on the global climatic change. From Interview: Ron Taylor further states that, contrary to wind energy which is difficult to maintain, hydroelectric power is easier to maintain since it has a longer maintenance window. It is ranked among the worlds’ preferred power source with low effects on the environment; for instance, the global warming influenced by gas emissions (Huggins, 2010). The most expensive part of the project is the initial cost of installation, which is high as compared to the other sources of power, which are less costly to install but difficult to maintain. From Research: The ability to spend much money on maintenance entirely depends on the procedure involved in the maintenance process especially when

Model of Albert Memorial Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Model of Albert Memorial - Essay Example Built around 1863 by Sir George Gilbert Scott, model of the Albert Memorial still remains to be an authentic emblem of neo-Gothic architecture till date. The plastered and gilt model neatly wears a polished gander testifying to the facsimile of the original Memorial tower located in Kensington Gardens in the English capital.2 The model was commissioned by Queen Victoria to commemorate Prince Albert, her beloved husband who passed away in 1861. This essay is going to discuss the key points related to the model of Albert Memorial and not the Memorial itself. These points will pertain to the designing and production of the object as well as the technical aspects of the neo-Gothic style of architecture. The literature studies will involve exhaustive analysis of relevant sources, including images, critiques, historical accounts and other informative data. The model of Albert Memorial depicts a seated figure of Prince Albert shielded by a covering which is adorned with symbolic figures of angels. It is topped by a cross and positioned on a platform having ornamented horizontal bands between the architrave and the cornice. Figures of poets, painters, architects and authors are carved on the friezes with moulded plaster. ... It was orchestrated by the fact that middle class segment of the society gained ascendance following steady decline of the aristocratic upper class. The Industrial Revolution that shook the whole of Europe during this time also opened up new job avenues for the skilled craftsmen. Subsequently, both the elite class and the growing middle class could share a common point of interest ahead of the revivalistic phase during Queen Victoria's regime. In essence, the Industrial Revolution captured the spirit of the Aesthetic movement in the British society.4 Veblen (2004: 194) argues that the flurry of products conforming to the genre of industry arts was not caused by some arbitrary movement in aesthetic competence. Rather it was very much an acquired skill mastered through proper grooming of the workers within a systematic framework.5 Thus it would be justified to claim that the deployment of skilled workforce by Queen Victoria for the task of building the Albert Memorial model corresponde d to the norms of the transition from the Elizabethan to the Victorian era. Figure 2. Red House, Kent: Aesthetic Movement (Strickland and Handy 2001: 101) Mainly cast plaster is used to build the model, with a metallic framework to provide support. As far as decoration is concerned, an array of architectural techniques is incorporated to make it look like the original Memorial. The triangular gables beneath the covering are affixed with gilded and pied paper works representing mosaic. Granite effect is created through a scagliola-like decoration vested in the column shafts, the model floor, bases of the four corners, and the steps. The sculptured band around the base and other portions of the model are painted with a thick layer of
